Modern Diecast Toy Vehicles
During the 1970's diecast toy trucks and commercial vehicles became hugely popular. Started by matchbox with their Models of Yesteryear line they produced toy Model T vans sporting highly colourful Coleman's Mustard, Coca-Cola and Cerebos Salt advertising banners. Corgi produced their own range in the 1980's including version of a 1920's Thornycroft van. During the latter years of the 1980' and the beginning of the 1990's the 1:76 scale models became popular possibly due to this scale fitting British 00 model trains. In the 1990's in the US Nascar models became popular made by Racing Champions and others. Today all kinds of models are popular including trucks, buses, trains, and farming and construction equipment.
